Our history

From a revived club to national champions

Curling was part of Carleton's athletic life decades ago, then disappeared for roughly forty years. In 2011–12 a group of students brought it back as the Ravens Competitive Curling Club, with men's and women's teams entering Ontario University Athletics (OUA) play.

Results came quickly. The men won an OUA bronze in only their second season. A year later the women were national champions and went on to wear the Maple Leaf at the Winter Universiade. Since then the Ravens have added a men's national title in 2019, a second OUA men's banner in 2025, and a national final in 2026.

Two national championships, two OUA titles and a Universiade silver in fifteen seasons.

2026–27 season

What we're playing for

After a national final last February, the program's priorities for this season and the next few.

  1. Every season

Both teams to the OUA podium and U SPORTS nationals

Qualify the men's and women's rosters for the national championship each year, so that reaching nationals is the expectation and not the exception.

  2. Unfinished business

    A third national championship

Turn 2026's silver into gold, and bring the women's program back to the national title it first won in 2014.

  3. Development

Build complete curlers and complete students

Structured practice, video review and a full bonspiel schedule, balanced with the academic demands of full-time study at Carleton.

  4. Sustainability

    Grow a program that lasts

Recruit across every year of study, stay connected with alumni, and fund ice time, bonspiel entries and travel through the Carleton FutureFunder campaign.
